Destination: Three Creeks Conservation Area, Deer Park Trailhead (3.0 mile loop). The area is very scenic and typically Ozarkian with cliffs, rock shelters and a variety of terrestrial and aquatic communities The trail would likely be classified as moderate with several water crossings; rocky in places.
What to Bring: sturdy, water-proof hiking boots, water, snacks to share, hiking sticks (if desired). Be prepared for winter conditions (or rain) with layered clothing, wool socks, warm hats, and gloves
- Base Layer (synthetic underwear layer): wicks sweat off skin (no cotton).
- Middle Layer (insulating layer): retains body heat to protect you from the cold (wool, down or synthetic).
- Outer Layer: (shell layer): protects you from the wind and rain.
