About us
Hiking and Activities Club California (HAACCA) is a vibrant community of members who share a love for nature, movement, and meaningful connection. Led by Maxx, our hikes typically span 6–12 miles and often end with a relaxed picnic to unwind and connect further. Occasionally longer hikes!
More than just a hiking group, HAACCA opens doorways — perhaps most importantly — real friendships in a region where that's not always easy. Our hikes encourage members to unplug from tech, be present, and engage in genuine conversation while exploring some of the most beautiful trails California has to offer.
Hiking shouldn’t be gatekept. This community has given so much to me that I stepped up to lead and continue growing its positive impact. Whether you're new to hiking or a seasoned trekker, HAACCA welcomes you.
let’s hit the trail — I can’t wait to meet you!

Around 23 million years ago, a series of volcanic eruptions shaped the landscape that is now Pinnacles National Park. The remnants of these ancient eruptions have formed a striking terrain of rocky spires and deep canyons. Visitors can explore diverse environments, from chaparral and oak woodlands to the cool, shaded depths of canyon floors.

Located in Point Reyes National Seashore- this is one of my favorite hikes. The hike itself is moderate but involves some climbing (nothing strenuous- but certainly not for beginners) and trek through a somewhat hidden and unmarked trails. Important gear requirements below. Total elevation gain will be about 1,200ft. Pets are not welcome.WHAT TO EXPECT
The first ~1.5 miles we will ascend ~250ft continuously, then next ~2 miles we mostly descend down to the falls. On the way back we will climb the descend we took on the way in (~600ft), then finally descend back to the car. The hike is mostly shaded with parts unshaded. It may be a warm day so be prepared, wear layers and bring water! We will take a snack/ lunch break at the falls.
IMPORTANT ADVISORY: the shortcut to the falls is through dense shrub and is unmarked. It is advised you wear full cover clothing or at least bring it with you as we traverse through the unmarked trail. Also, if you intend on descending down to the falls at the beach below- I strongly advise good hiking or climbing shoes that would give you traction. If you intend on getting wet in the falls or the ocean below, plan to bring spare clothing, swimwear and towel.Details of the trail are available here:

Arroyo Seco - Walk, wade, swim and scramble in the Arroyo Seco canyon
Arroyo Seco Camprground Trailhead, Arroyo Seco Rd, Greenfield, CA, USThis is a fun event!
9:30AM START.
DETAILS
This is a ~5 mile loop through the Arroyo Seco canyon. The river will be flowing so you will need to swim, wade and scramble over rocks to complere the hike. You must assume that everything you carry will get wet unless it's in a dry bag.
The first 2.5 miles we will hike on a dirt road with a gradual climb up to the bridge. From there we will descend into the creek and head back to the trailhead. This will require swimming short distances, wading and scrambling over rocks.
Note that we will be in the water quite a bit. There is no option for turning around once you pass the half mile point in the creek.
If we're lucky, we will see the resident beaver.
IMPORTANT- Please make sure are comfortable in water and able to swim 100 yards or so at a time.
- You will need water shoes.
- It is recommended that you bring a dry bag for your personal stuff and a long sleeve (rash guard) shirt for the water to protect you from the sun. And of course water and a hat!
- Check your driving times before RSVPing.
- Keep track of the weather. The area can be 10 - 20 degrees warmer than the Bay Area.
- There is a mandatory pre-trip call to coordinate carpooling etc. on April 13th @ 7 PM. Details to be provided prior to the call.
