Porth Ceiriad and Llanengan Walk

Classic Coastal Walk covering the peninsula to the south of Abersoch, where we will cover around 10 miles and include multiple beach stops, a pub stop, and at least one swim, which are an integral part of this event so will not be hurried.

The Abersoch getaway is a postponement from during lockdown, so (being full) is not open to extra places or further administration. This walk is open to those going, and anyone who happens to be in the area who is self sufficient in finding us, and who accepts that we may alter the plan on the day if circumstances indicate.

General Logistics:
Meet: 10:00 for prompt 10:10 start (or earlier, if all in sight are ready).
Start Point: Olgra House, A497, Sarn Bach, Abersoch, LL53 7DT
Leaving: Important: Please ensure you do not leave the assembling group, re-enter the house, or stand by the front door, so that we can make a clean break of setting out without leaving you behind.
Parking: At Olgra House only for those staying there. Others may park on Lon Gwydryn (A499 within 50 metres) or on Lon Golff (South Beach) or on local side roads such as Cae Du to avoid P&D.
Distance: Intermediate distance of just over 10 miles (though there are 6 mile and 13 mile versions possible for anyone with map prepared to self lead the home stretches).

Terrain: Coastal, some undulation, beaches and sea, very few stiles.
Refreshment Stops: Picnic on Porth Ceiriad Beach and idyllic pub stop in Llanengan village
Bring: Swimwear towel and beachwear, plus waterproofs & refreshments & good walking footwear, all according to weather.
Guests: Under 16s and dogs (well behaved, under control) may attend as guests.

Safety:
As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.

RSVP Commitment:
Withdrawing in the last 24 hours is forbidden. attendances shouldn't be compromised by no-shows, late withdrawals, and uncommitted waitlisting. Reliable attendees will take priority at future events.
