Escape the outside world to an esoteric, contemplative spiritual atmosphere of this magical & ancient place.
An amazing carnival of vibrant very colourful light & sound floats, the procession is reputed to be the largest such event of its type. A very spectacular & colourful show, thats totally free to attend !
The Somerset Carnivals are widely regarded as the largest illuminated processions in the UK and Europe.
Followed on sun by a 5 mile chilled pilgrimage walk along the Glastonbury way. The route includes visits to the white well, chalice well gardens & spectacular Tor with wonderfull views of the Somerset levels. Followed by optional evening visit to a traditional local pub.

The Chalice Well gardens are a place of peace & tranquility. A must for anyone wanting to feel the spiritual healing atmosphere of this restful, ancient sacred space. admission charge £5.00. Assistance & guide dogs only.*mobile phones - airplane mode/silent & no music please !

Glastonbury Tor has a long & ancient history and much folklore. There is evidence of buildings, before the 14th century st.Michael's chapel sited on the top of the Tor, dating back to at least the 11th Century. It's claimed to be the mythical island of Avalon. - 2 day itinerary -
Sat - Carnival day
1000 - meet outside tourist info. Office for mural trail, plus arts, craft & holistic market at the assembly rooms
1200 - later meet at The rainbows end cafe for lunch
1300 - Glastonbury shopping experience- exploring the interesting & very colourful independents !
1730 - drink in traditional local pub
1830 - meet outside Tourist info centre
1845 - Carnival processions commences

1005 depart on the Glastonbury way 5 mile walk
Taking in Almshouses, churches & chapels. Also Gog & Magog (Ancient 1,000 year old oak trees).The 500ft Glastonbury Tor, plus both the white spring & Chalice well gardens, £5 entry (optional)
1730 for social drink in The Riflemans pub, nearby
