Walk: The South Cotswold Lake District

ROUTE DETAILS: We take a circular tour of many lakes, encompassing The Thames Path eastwards passing Ashton Keynes before heading north to Cerney Wick, and back to Neigh Lake.

EVENT NARRATIVE: This event is the first of a weekend pair of brand new classic routes in the SW-Cotswolds (near M5 J13) coinciding with school half term. Members may do either or both, and there's a stop-over opportunity if doing both, with an extra hour of fun or sleep due to BST ending. So we're also looking at holding a social evening on Saturday in the vicinity, near some accommodation options.

Safety
As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.

Contingency:
Following storm Babet, some rivers flooded their banks making footpaths impassable. We are not expecting a continuum, but our walk does involve a series of water features. Should there be issues, we have a contingency route (without rivers and lakes) available from Kemble Station Road Car Park GL7 6BE which is only 3 miles away from Neigh Bridge Lake.

RSVP Commitment
Places are limited, so withdrawing in the last 24 hours is forbidden. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals, and uncommitted waitlisting) so reliable attendees will take priority at future events.
