Solstice Walk: Frankton & Draycote Water (Warws)

Surprisingly our first ever adventure near Dunchurch, circumnavigating most of Draycote Reservoir and venturing westward over countryside and a disused railway path for variety. This walk was deferred until now due to floods during late 2023.

Logistics:
Meet: 10:30 for prompt 10:40 start.
Distance: Moderate distance of just over 10 miles, easy walking however
Start Point: Draycote Water visitors centre, CV23 8AE, reached off A426. This meeting point is lakeside, two minutes walk from the car parking.
Parking: Several large and small car parks available.
Terrain: Level managed tracks and paths around the lake, with open views of surrounding countryside. The managed tracks and disused railway path should limit our exposure to the Warwickshire mud.
Refreshments: Bring fluids and picnic lunch, also pub stop options after 60% distance, and possible cafe stop at start and end. No doubt time for a couple of waterside pauses along the way, since very little in the way of obstacles to disrupt our walk pace.

Guests: Under 16s may attend as guests. Very few stiles to negotiate.

Safety:
As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.

RSVP Commitment:
Places are limited, so withdrawing in the last 24 hours is not allowed. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals, and uncommitted waitlisting) so reliable attendees will take priority at future events.

Minimum attendance 15, Maximum attendance 35. These numbers are necessary for the walk to go ahead.
