Advanced hikers, join us for a strenuous hike from Ozone Falls up and over Black Mountain and then up to Brady Bluff and back down. This is an end-to-end shuttle hike. We will meet at the Black Mountain/Brady Mountain trailhead on highway 68 and carpool to Ozone Falls, where the hike will begin.

This covers three sections of the Cumberland Trail with many steep ascents/descents over short distances. Ozone Falls to Black Mountain is one of the toughest sections of the Cumberland Trail with 2,000 ft cumulative elevation gain in less than a 6 mile stretch. We will then reach the Black Mountain Overlook, where we will eat lunch and enjoy the impressive view! Aterwards, we will walk among many "house-sized" rock formations near the top of Black Mountain as we continue on down the other side until we reach Highway 68 - the Black Mountain/Brady Mountain Trailhead.

At this point, anyone needing to stop can wait in the car. The rest of us will cross the road and hike up an additional 900 feet elevation gain to the Brady Bluff Overlook where we will pause to enjoy the expansive view of Grassy Cove before returning back to the Highway 68 Trailhead.

We plan to stay together as a group. We will take water/snack breaks, as needed, as well as an early lunch break on top of Black Mountain.

- Bring plenty of water!
- Sunscreen is highly recommended (there will be a lot of sun due to the lack of leaves on the trees)
