Come Hike Iron Mine Loop in Fahnestock!

It's time to go hiking!
Join us for a fun and challenging hike at Clarence Fahnestock State Park! Trail offers a good up and down to challenge your heart rate to prepare for Breakneck! A couple of difficult rock scrambles but lots of easy sections, including a few gravel roads. See some iron mining history of Putnam County. The 5.2 mile hike consists of 918 feet of elevation gain and should take about 3hrs to complete!
Please make sure to bring hiking boots, trekking poles and lots of water!! Also some snacks if you get hungry!
We will meet at the Appalachian Trail Parking at Dennytown Rd and then start the hike from there. We will give everyone a little bit of time to park and settle in. We plan to begin hiking around 9:10am.
