Peak District Walking and Social Break 2023
Details
The Peak District is amazing. Not only one of the most popular National Parks in the country with more than 13 million visitors a year, it was also the UK's first National Park and the location of the great Kinder Trespass in 1934 which led to the establishment of public rights of way across private land extended by the 2000 Countryside right to roam laws which we all enjoy today nationwide.
Our base for the weekend at Losehill Hall Mews for which we have an exclusive hire is right in the heart of it with wonderful walks and scenery in every direction.
Having personally led more than 1,000 walks in the Peak District over a number of years you'll have to forgive Gordon for being such an enthusiast. It is fabulous, in beauty and variety, yet there are good transport links which make it accessible for all..
As usual we shall have a choice of walks on Saturday and Sunday and a "bonus walk" for those able to make a 11am start on the Friday.
This is a fully catered weekend including two evening meals, two help yourself breakfasts and two lunch packups. Hot drinks are included throughout the weekend but bring your own alchoholic beverages and as we don't provide biscuits, cakes and desserts if you are kind enough to bring some of these to share they will be very much appreciated by all.
The cost at this point is now just £79 per person all inclusive which needs to be paid when you book. This will rise by a further £20 after the first 20 places have been taken.
If you have to cancel more than 28 clear days before the event start date you will get a full refund less 15% cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 28 but more than 14 clear days notice the cancellation fee increases to 50%. No refunds will be provided to those cancelling with less than 14 clear days notice. ("clear" means does not include event start date or cancellation date!
Gordon and team have now organised more than 100 similar weekends away with great feedback from the thousands of people that have taken part. You won't be disappointed! All these events get advertised to several Meetup groups so numbers shown may not reflect total numbers booked. Events can fill rapidly so early booking is recommended. As we keep our not for profit price at an absolute minimum we have no paid staff and participants are expected to contribute an hour or so over the weekend to help with food prep and clearing up which become a shared responsibility. All food and hot drinks are provided throughout the weekend including for those with special dietary requirements as long as notified beforehand.
Please address any questions about the weekend to gordon@peakmeetupgroup.com or via Meetup
