Module 5 - Character Archetypes: The Hero
Details
If your hero is “interesting” but no one gives a damn… congratulations. You’ve made a garnish.
Last module eons ago, we talked about how story is a system, a pizza, and every piece is chained to the next. Crust, sauce, toppings. Miss one and you’ve got a soggy triangle of regret. Now we’re moving to the part everyone thinks they understand: the Big Cheese aka The Hero. Spoiler alert: most heroes on the page aren’t heroes at all. They’re interesting. They’re traumatized. They’re symbolic.
In Module #5, we get our hands dirty. We begin to break down hero archetypes, stress-test your protagonist, and figure out whether your character will be adored by the audience—or just plain old parsley. This module is part of an ongoing deep dive into mythic structure and narrative craft, alongside a community of writers who aren’t here to be precious—they’re here to get better. There’s a lot more to come. This is where it starts to look real.
Bring something to take notes with. Snacks, coffee, and water will be provided.
