This January 2nd marks the 10th anniversary from Ana's crash that she survived as a pedestrian. Please join Ana on a walk around the area and visiting the intersection of 17th and Broadway, where the crash happened. We will be walking a little over a mile and will discuss the famed intersection's safety elements - then and now. We will also be sharing local and personal achievements in the pedestrian safety field.

How to prepare: Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, appropriate for the weather.

Meet Up : Meet in front of the 303 building on 17th, by the stairs.
Get there by bus (route 20), or Mall Ride. There is covered parking at 303 Parking.

Walking Movement Leader: Ana Lucaci has used walking as a means of transportation for many years, particularly while growing up and working in Romania. After a pedestrian vs. car crash, she became a walking advocate, helping others experience walking as a means of staying healthy and speaking out to make walking and rolling accessible and safe for all. She holds a Masters of Public Health and is a doctoral student in transportation engineering. Ana is the creator and voice behind the Pedestrian-Oriented Motorist Course and also conducts research for the Center for Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety.
