We are so back! Sloan’s Lake Park sits on the northwest side of Denver, bordering Lakewood, Edgewater, and Wheat Ridge. In the mid to late 1800s, Sloan’s Lake was actually a thoroughfare called South Golden Road connecting Denver to Golden. In 1866, Thomas F. Sloan accidentally unearthed the lake while digging a well.
More than 150 years later, Sloan’s Lake now offers 177 acres of public park where residents can enjoy hiking, jogging, and biking along the scenic trail surrounding the lake. The lake itself hosts activities like paddle boarding, dragon boat races, and fishing.

Come join Walk2Connect every Tuesday at 6 PM to explore Sloan’s Lake and meet your neighbors. This is a relaxed, casual walk that follows the paved path around the lake. Bring your flashlights!

Your Trip Host: Morgan Brittany Russo is an enthusiastic Associate Broker at JPAR Platinum and a proud Sloan’s Lake resident. You may spot Morgan walking or running around the park in her signature black hat. Don’t hesitate to say hi!

Schedule & Meeting Location: We will meet at 6 PM in front of the restroom facilities where Utica Street enters the south parking lot at Sloan’s Lake. There are also porta potties available if you need to use the restroom. Please plan to arrive a few minutes before 6 PM. We should be finished walking by about 7:15 PM. Of course, feel free to leave earlier if you need to.

Parking: There is plenty of parking throughout the neighborhood and in the Sloan’s Lake Park parking areas.

Dog Friendly! We will be doing a loop and returning to our starting location. Please make sure your dog can comfortably handle 2 to 3 miles in a variety of weather conditions and is calm and well behaved. Dogs must stay leashed and please bring baggies. As much as we love your furry friends, the home tour portion of the walk is not pet friendly.

Breaks, Restrooms: The bathrooms may not be open, so please try to go before arriving at the walk.

Weather: Due to changing weather conditions, please come prepared with enough layers and or waterproof gear to stay comfortable.

Cancellation Policy: We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path such as ice, hail, or lightning. Check Meetup or text the walk leader for the most up to date conditions.
RSVP: Please email Morgan at russomorgan@gmail.com or call or text 267.608.5217 to RSVP or with any questions.
