Create a beautiful fabric art piece inspired by the classic Woven Star quilt block, just in time for the holiday season.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the Japanese-inspired art of Kinusaiga, a no-sew technique that uses fabric tucked into a prepared foam board to create a textured work of art. No sewing or previous artistic experience is needed!

Your Woven Star design will be pre-transferred onto a prepared foam board, so you can focus on selecting fabrics and creating your own color palette. Choose traditional holiday colors for a festive piece you can display throughout the season, or go with more neutral, colorful, or earthy fabrics to create artwork you'll enjoy year-round. Everyone will start with the same design, but each finished piece will be unique.

Once your design is complete, it will be placed into a wooden 8" × 8" frame, included with your workshop, creating a finished piece that's ready to display or give as a handmade gift.

All supplies are included, including:

  • Prepared foam board with the Woven Star design
  • A curated selection of fabrics to choose from
  • 8" × 8" wooden frame
  • Use of all tools during the workshop

Whether you're looking to try a new creative technique, make something for your holiday decor, or create a piece that can stay on display all year, this workshop is a fun and approachable way to spend an afternoon making with fabric.
