What we're about
Upcoming events (5+)
A hill workout by the beach! We jog down the path to the beach then run back up. Then trot down the steps to the beach and run up the steps. Repeat 2 - 10 times. It's fun! (Not). But it is a great, great workout. And it doesn't take very long. 40-50 minutes typically. Beginners are always welcome to join us (and all our other runs too). Before we start we do a 1 mile slow warm-up run along Lake Drive. After Memorial Day there are port-a-potties at Atwater and a bubbler for water. This workout repeats every other Thursday. (On the alternate Thursday we do the Seven Hills workout at Colectivo by the Lake).
Live near Tosa and like to run in the morning? Join us on Friday at Hoyt Park in Wauwatosa for a three to five mile run. Paces are anywhere from 9:00 to 12:00 minutes per mile - something for everyone. Beginners are welcome! New to running? Ask for Emily Jo or Patrick and we'll get you started.
Join us for 3-20 miles. We start together then gently split into groups of similar pace and distance. Meet back at Colectivo after the run for breakfast, coffee, or a favorite recovery drink. Routes and distances vary by who's doing what training plan. If this is your first time, ask for Patrick, Christina, Ryan, Nicole, or Clint. We'd be happy to answer questions, explain options, and do our best to match you up with someone your speed and distance. There are always a multitude of speeds and distances. Speeds vary between: snail, sloth, dial-up-modem, politician-avoiding-a-question, brown bear, and cheetah. Most people fit into one of these groups. Run for fun, to get fit, or to set a new PR. Whatever. We don't judge (unless you don't show up).
This Meetup is in conjunction with the other Meetup Group. We'd like to invite all to enjoy the trails and hopefully stay for brunch. 1. Meet in the Evergreen Parking Lot, which is the first lot on the right. 2. We typically run about 7 miles. If you want to run fewer miles, you can turn around at any point. If you want to run further, you can tack on some miles before or after our 9:00am run. PLEASE, if you are new to running, or have never run trails before, let the group know. 3. It is a state park, so you need a park sticker or day pass, which you can buy as you enter. Buying a sticker is a good deal if you plan on going to a state park more than 4 times within the year. 4. We always have a 5 minute grace period, so we're off and running by 9:05. If you know you're running a little behind, just post on this page and we'll know to wait for you. We'd hate to leave anyone behind! 5. Brunch afterwards (sometimes) if the group would like! We can plan occasional field trips to other trails in the area as well! Black loop= 6.5 miles Black Loop+Stairway= 9.75 Miles Blue loop= 5.7 miles Ice Age= 7.5 miles (this is the only choice in winter when the ski trails are groomed).
