Learn how to walk better, get in great shape, make new friends, and turn your walking into a mindfulness practice.
Note: We are asking for a suggested donation of $5 - $10 to help us carve out the time and cover the costs of getting in to the city (we come in from the hinterlands of NJ), but payment is not required to attend. You may donate now by using a credit card through meetup or in person at the event!

Don't be scared off if you're not a fitness walker, or haven't walked much in years -- or even if you're coming back from injury and simply want to get moving again.
This clinic is truly for all levels, from soon-to-be-former couch-potatoes, to future charity-event walkers (and future mindful runners!) plus everyone in-between.
And don't worry if you've never meditated before or struggle to meditate. Quieting the mind while moving is hard-wired into our being. It's a survival mechanism built into our DNA for exploring, hunting, and escaping predators. So it's easy to learn and we'll show you how.
The tools you'll learn will help improve your walking, and help you rewire the mind. So the benefits will remain even when at home or at work. This helps you become more relaxed, present and focused, more patient, sharper and clearer thinking, more productive, and of course better able to breathe and to sleep!
Note: We'll only be doing a few hundred yards of walking as we practice new techniques, so you need not be in shape, or show up with fresh legs, ready to walk a 10K. Far from it. This is a fun hands-on learning session, rather than a fast-paced walking one.

Further Note: The Meetup is officially from 10 - 12 AM followed by a short Q/A. However, feel free to join Jessica and me for a silent mindfulness meditation from 9:15 - 9:45 at the south end of the Great Lawn as well. (Just by the turtle pond - maps to be posted shortly!)
