London Gay, Bi, Trans Men's Mindfulness Meditation Group
Details
Every Monday for the last 14 years between 15 - 40 men have come into this oasis of calm in the heart of London to meditate, build life skills and make new friends.
Suitable if you are new to meditation or for regulars. We sit on chairs, but cushions and mats are available if you prefer. Please wear loose clothing or bring something to change into.
Most don't RSVP so if you don't see anyone booked in the class will still go ahead. The only days we don't meet are Bank Holidays.
- We start with some movement to release tension from your body followed by a guided meditation to calm your mind.
- Then there's a 20 minute refreshment break and time to chat with others at the class.
- We finish with time for conversation in small groups around the theme for the night and a closing meditation.
What You Learn
I lived for 7 years as a Buddhist monk and my teacher said that "mindfulness is about building a container to hold the chaos". We can't control life, but we can learn how to stay centred no matter what life throws at us and in this class you'll learn tools for coping with the stresses of life and how to be happier, confident and more content.
Testimonial
Here's what Peter said after his first session: "I came to the evening a little bit scared that it will be hard for me to turn off my brain for two hours. However I'm glad that I accepted this challenge. The flowing structure of the session with meditative parts, sharing of the participants and listening to Nick's nice words prevented me from falling into any commotion. The two hours flew by fast and I'd have even asked for more. After this touching experience I'll integrate Mindfulness Meditation into my regular practice.“
