About the event
❄️ Join us for a mindful cross-country ski experience for beginners to intermediate skiers on Mount Royal ❄️

This event blends the grounding benefits of mindfulness with the simple joy of moving through winter landscapes on skis. Led by Molly Mosenthal, adventure-based therapist, we'll set off together at a comfortable, unhurried pace, focusing on breath, body awareness, and connection with nature as we glide along the beautiful snowy trails of Mount Royal park.

Please note: this is not a basic ski lesson. The group will head straight onto the trails, so participants should have at least one prior day of cross-country skiing experience and feel comfortable standing, gliding, and moving forward on skis. While we may offer gentle cues for efficiency and ease, the emphasis is on mindful movement rather than technical instruction.

If the weather conditions aren't suitable for skiing, we’ll shift to a mindful skating session at Beaver Lake instead (same meeting location).

🎿 We will meet at the Beaver Lake Pavilion, where you can rent skis, poles, and boots. At the time of writing, ski rental is $23.00 for 3 hours. Rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you’re renting equipment, please arrive early and head to the rental counter to get fitted. Once you’re geared up, meet us outside the pavilion at the main entrance.

👥 Who This Event is For: This mindful skiing event is ideal for those who have some familiarity with cross-country skiing and are looking to deepen their experience through presence, rhythm, and time in nature—rather than speed or performance.

We value accessibility: If the event ticket price feels out of reach, please email us at contact@mindfulnessoutdoors.org, we'll be happy to explore options.
