About us
History Trails, Murder Mysteries, Treasure Hunts, Meals Out, Dancing, and Great Fun!
Welcome to Mini Adventures & Trails for The Young at Heart, a friendly and inclusive group where we bring people together through shared activities. We organise a wide variety of events to inspire, connect, and uplift. Whether it’s solving Murder Mystery History Trails, enjoying scenic walks, hunting for clues on Treasure Hunts, dining out, dancing, camping, or exploring fascinating places of interest such as historic sites and local landmarks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Our group is centred around improving mental health and well-being. We understand the importance of feeling connected and supported, and we’re committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone is made to feel valued. We proudly support the mental health charity Mind, with donations from our events helping to fund their vital work.
It’s completely free to join us! Some events may ask for small, voluntary contributions to help cover costs like materials or planning, with any surplus funds going directly to Mind to support their cause.
This is more than just a social group—it’s a community where you can make new friends, enjoy meaningful experiences, and improve your well-being while having fun. Together, we’ll create unforgettable memories, build genuine connections, and celebrate the joy of being part of something special.
Join Mini Adventures & Trails for The Young at Heart today, and discover a world of friendship, laughter, and adventure. Everyone is welcome—we can’t wait to meet you!

York’s Secret Snickleway Walking History Trail
St Crux, York, GBYork’s Secret Snickleway Walking History Trail
Length: 2 miles - Time: 2 hours - Walk Difficulty: Easy
-----
Join us for a relaxed and enjoyable walking trail through the quieter corners of York, following the city’s famous snickleways — the narrow lanes, hidden alleys and tucked-away passages that connect York’s streets. This snickleway walk begins and ends at The Shambles, but quickly leads away from the busiest areas into parts of the city many people walk past without noticing.***
This is a simple walking trail rather than a puzzle or mystery event. You’ll be given a map to follow, along with a series of history points that highlight the stories, buildings and past uses of the snickleways and surrounding areas.
***
You may also encounter a few shady Mini Adventure characters along the way, who will share a little extra information about York’s streets and stories.
***
The route is approximately 2 miles, mostly flat, and your group should take this at an easy pace. It’s a chance to enjoy York away from the main crowds, notice the details, and simply enjoy a day out walking the snickleways.

THE IMPORTANT BIT:
As daring adults, let's embrace our adventurous spirits! Your safety and that of your fellow explorers are in your capable hands. We believe in providing a more intimate and personalised experience, so we prefer to send groups off in smaller numbers so nobody (new or old members) feels left out. Alternatively, you can form your own group with your friends.TIMINGS: We will meet at 11 am outside St Crux. If participant numbers are high, we may stagger start times in small groups at 10-minute intervals.
DIRECTIONS: We will be meeting at the bottom of the Shambles in the courtyard of St Crux (opposite Gregs & Golden Fleece). Come by train or book your parking in advance by using this app to save you money: https://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/
-------------
This event is FREE. However, we will be collecting optional donations for Mind, the charity supported by our Adventure Group.
-------------
Enjoy a pleasant day out in York with new and old friends.
