Pateley Victorian Gardens & Woodland Secrets History Walk
Length: 3.75 miles Time: 2 hours Difficulty: Moderate

***

Join us for a gentle but rewarding circular walk exploring some of the most scenic and historic corners of Pateley Bridge and its surroundings.

***

Starting in the heart of Pateley Bridge, we’ll follow paths alongside the River Nidd towards Glasshouses, enjoying riverside views and the character of the Victorian gardens along the way. From there, we’ll cross the bridge and head into Bewerley, continuing on woodland paths to visit the historic ice house and pretty lake, before continuing through the village and back into Pateley.

***

The route is 3.75 miles, and we’ll complete the walk at a steady pace, allowing time to take in the sights and learn some local history as we go.

***

The walk is mainly on paths, but sections beside the river can be muddy, particularly after wet weather, so suitable footwear is essential.

***

THE IMPORTANT BIT:
As daring adults, let’s embrace our adventurous spirits! Your safety and that of your fellow explorers are in your capable hands. When you RSVP for this trail, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times.

TIMINGS: We are starting at 10.30 am, so please arrive early. The walk is roughly 2 hours long.

DIRECTIONS: Meet on Nidd Walk, outside Wildings Tearoom. Car parks are opposite the cafe and also at the Pateley Showground over the bridge.

NOTE: Dogs are welcome but must be kept strictly on a lead. As we will be encountering a number of ducks and swans on route, you are welcome to bring some duck food.

***

We may finish the walk at a cafe in the centre of Pateley Bridge, although we may need to split into smaller groups to accommodate numbers.

***

This event is FREE. However, we will be collecting optional donations for Mind, the charity supported by our Adventure Group.

***

We look forward to seeing you in Pateley!
