What we’re about
Our Yin & Restorative Yoga group offers yoga classes led by our resident expert, Melody Oaks (along with occasional invited teachers). As an Occupational Therapist and registered Trauma-Informed yoga instructor Melody brings her wide ranging expertise and compassion to the classroom to facilitate embodiment, inclusion, and integration for all bodies. Our class are designed for inclusion of all practitioners from absolute beginners to experienced yogis.
In this group practice, we center the spiritual tradition in our practice of yoga and the integration of mind, body, spirit that this ancient practice instructs us in. To this end, we focus our yoga classes on the slower, more meditative practices of Yin, Restorative, and Nidra which particularly foster deeper self-awareness, self-study and inquiry. Yoga practiced in this way can result in profound mind-body connection and integration. While there is deep value in other more active forms of yoga, there is no shortage of these types of high quality studios and classes in the Twin Cities. We offer small, highly curated classes to slow down, turn inward and nurture mind, body, and spirit.

Winter Solstice Yin to Restorative Class
ENSO Center for Psychotherapy & Integrative Wellness, 430 N 1st Ave Suite 765, Minneapolis, MN, USJoin us for this special extended Yin to Restorative class as we settle into the darkest night of the year. In this 90-minute class, we will work with themes of welcoming what arises for us as we slow down and lean into the quieter and darker rhythms of winter. In a season that often demands the opposite, give yourself the gift of time and inner-connection.
We will explore finding softness and release in the deeper sensations of Yin with props, breath-work, and sensory exploration, and then settle into the quiet support of Restorative poses. This will be a deeply restful class as we nurture our bodies into ultimate comfort for a complete reset of the nervous system.
Our classes are taught from a trauma-informed lens and designed to be accessible for all bodies and practitioners from beginner to experienced. All mats & props are provided.
