Note the location change!
This is a class/workshop on PoV (Point of View) and how to use it in your writing. We'll discuss slant words, areas of attention, revealing character history, bonding with the reader, and signaling intention.
Bring your preferred writing tools! There will be guided writing exercises to assist in gaining a deeper understanding of this topic.
Treats will be provided (hint: chocolate is likely to be involved).
This event is free. All are welcome. This is the August MSP MinnSpec meetup, but MinnSpec membership is not required, although we will try to persuade you to join us!
This workshop will be led by Abra Staffin-Wiebe, a Minneapolis writer and long-time MinnSpec member who has sold dozens of short stories to publications including Tor.com, Escape Pod, and Odyssey Magazine. She's teaching the following class at The Loft Literary Center in October: "Submit Now! Selling Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Stories" (https://www.loft.org/shop/product_detail/2/classes/1143/submit_now_selling_science_fiction_and_fantasy_short_stories_/).
