All skill levels welcome. Top Rope climbing from 7pm to 10 pm
I usually climb around 5.8 or 5.9, but we have people in our group who like to climb around 5.6 or 5.7, and occasional participants climbing 5.10 and up.
Just some friendly folks who want to climb with other friendly folks.
I have friends who will also be present who are not on this app.
We are safety-minded and take safety seriously.
Please already have a top rope belay certification at the gym, or be ready to acquire one upon arrival. Will also need to demonstrate to us your ability to belay properly, though we will also review safety procedures so everyone is on the same page.
For first-timers or total beginners:
You will need:
~ a gym membership or one time pass
Ideally you will have:
~ a climbing harness *
~ climbing shoes **
- I have one extra harness if one person needs to borrow it. Message me if so.
** If you don't have climbing shoes, you can get away with using something like running shoes, though it isn't ideal. There is also an option to rent shoes, or buy 5 dollar blown-out used rental shoes at the gym.
You'll need a gym membership or to pay for a single-time pass at the gym. Check the Mesa Rim website for prices if you don't already have a membership.
If you've never belayed, you can still climb, as long as we have three people total. Message me if you've never belayed.
