Montgomery County Anime Club

Welcome to the Montgomery County Anime Club! For some, it can be tricky to meet new people and find a shared interest to talk about. The purpose of this group is to help with that! To put it simply - we get together, talk about anime (Japanese animation) /manga (Japanese comics or graphic novels), and build connections along the way.

Some activities we have done over the years as a group:

• In-person and virtual anime watch parties
• Dining out
• Attended local conventions and events
• Attended movie screenings in the area (both anime and non-anime)
• Holiday Potlucks
• Escape Rooms

To chat more and be more active in the group please join our Facebook group here: https://m.facebook.com/groups/309063103093749 If you are not a Facebook user no worries - we will do our best to keep both sites equally updated.

If you are not on Facebook, we do have a Discord server. To receive an invite, please ask the organizer at one of our in-person events. In addition to in-person events, we plan to host virtual anime viewing parties over Discord.

Rules:

• Must be 18+ years old to join.
• Some of our meetings can only fit a certain number of people. RSVPs are important as it helps us get an idea who is coming so we can accommodate space or reservations. Please cancel that RSVP if you’re not coming to give others a place (〃ω〃)
• We highly ask members have a photo on their meetup profile - at least for your first in-person meeting. It helps us to be able to identify new members and give a proper welcome.
• Please keep conversations at events anime-themed as best as possible. By that, we think it is best we don’t spend the entire meeting discussing politics or other sensitive topics.
• Please be respectful to all event hosts/organizers and fellow attendees.
• For certain events such as movies, and conventions - we usually organize to meet up early at the event so that everyone is together. However if you are running late, please let us know via event chat.

The meetup organizer may change or update the rules at any time.

Safety:
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please notify the meetup organizer.

Any attendee asked to stop inappropriate behavior is expected to comply immediately. The event host and/or meetup organizer reserves the right to take action to keep events safe and welcoming for all participants.
