Mari Sild is an Estonian pianist, singer, composer, and neuroscientist. From classical piano training in Tartu (Estonia) to earning a PhD in neuroscience at McGill University (Montreal), Mari has consistently defied conventions—merging her passion for global rhythms, nature, and the human spirit into her signature dreamy Nordic Fusion sound.
Her journey is that of a restless soul — a global wanderer in constant pursuit of beauty and harmony. Mari has performed on unique stages around the world, collaborating with local jazz and world musicians — from Brazilian beach bars and moving piano lounges aboard trains between Montreal and New York, to cultural festivals deep in Estonian forests, including the European Capital of Culture 2024 (Tartu) celebrations.
Mari has been featured on various media platforms, including the Talk Music Podcast hosted by multi-platinum producer and artist manager Tom Treumuth. Estonian national TV channel Kanal 2 (Roald Johannson) also profiled her in a dedicated episode titled “The Singing Neuroscientist” (Laulev Neuroteadlane).
Her music is often interwoven with purpose. Several of her performances have supported environmental causes, such as fundraisers for an elephant orphanage. Her albums — Elephant, Soulscapes: Live Love Recordings, the salsa-inspired single Tahan, and her upcoming album — all echo her deep reverence for the connection between nature and humanity, and serve as a tribute to dreamers, seekers, and the quietly wild within us all.
