About us
Expand. Free. Play.
What if play could set you free?
Freedom Acting Studio is a Montréal studio for anyone ready to explore themselves through acting, movement, and creative discovery — artists, seekers, beginners, and curious souls alike.
At the heart of everything lives Lila — the principle of sacred play. Not play as escape, but play as the deepest form of self-knowledge.
We go deeper than a drama class.
Experiential and performance-based work — improvisation, scene study, classical drama work, embodied creativity, honest reflection. Safe, confidential, fun, and real.
You make a personal connection with Drama, Theatre and make your life meaningful in a new way.
Beyond acting, the characters, the scenes, and the laughter — we explore who we are underneath it all — You.

A 6-Session Course in Applied Acting for Personal Development
Facilitator: Nikolai AfanasevTuesdays & Sundays, July 8 – August 1st

Over six sessions, you'll explore the foundational practices of great acting teachers — Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, Michael Chekhov, Augusto Boal — applied not to the stage, but to your real life: your relationships, your work, your sense of self. You'll learn to:
— Move and speak with more presence and ease
— Name and express your emotions with more clarity
— Listen and connect more authentically
— Try on different qualities and bring the best ones home
— Use your voice to be heard — not louder, but truerNo acting experience needed. No performance required.
The course ends with a short sharing of original monologues and scenes — but the real culminating activity is noticing what's shifted in you.
