We're summoning a squad to take on the JR stamp rally together, aiming to complete the full 9-stamp course.

If you're not familiar with a "stamp rally," it's an event usually run by railway companies or other stakeholders: you travel around collecting a series of stamps placed at designated stations, then exchange them for a prize.

It's completely non-productive โ€” but a lot of fun if you enjoy solving puzzles and exploring the city. And with a group along for the ride, there's plenty of room to make some connections on the way.

To be honest, this is primarily a socializing event, followed by a city exploration. So, please approach it with an open mind and be prepared to make new friends.

๐Ÿ“ 9:00 โ€” Meet somewhere in Shinjuku Station (exact spot shared before the event)

โ–ถ First, a quick orientation โ€” we'll introduce ourselves and make sure everyone's set up for the stamp rally.

๐Ÿš‰ Stage 1: collect any 6 stamps to upgrade the stamp book for the 9-stamp challenge. Stamps collected in Stage 1 can be cut out and pasted into the Stage 2 book.

Stage 1 order:
Shinjuku โ†’ Mitaka (1/9) โ†’ Yotsuya (2/9) โ†’ Ikebukuro (3/9) โ†’ Musashi-Kosugi (4/9) โ†’ Sakuragichล (5/9)

After Stage 1, we head to ลŒimachi Station for the stamp-book upgrade (the counter opens 11:30 and closes 18:00).

๐Ÿ™ Lunch: a group lunch near ลŒimachi, where we finish the morning โ€” could be fast food, a family restaurant, or takeout if there's nowhere to seat a big group.

I want to keep the pace easy, so we'll likely take an afternoon tea break somewhere along the way. โ˜•

Heads-up: 18:00 is a hard stop โ€” it's the closing time for prize collection, so if we run late, that's where we wrap.

  • First-timers: ยฅ500 (cash, please) โ€” this goes toward the Meetup subscription fee to keep the group sustainable.
  • Repeaters & students: free ๐ŸŽ‰

๐ŸŽซ Transit: please buy a 1-day "Nonbiri Holiday Suica Pass" (about ยฅ2,850) at any JR station or via Suica APP on the day โ€” it'll save you quite a bit on transit.
*Requires a Suica card or the Suica app on your phone (not available with PASMO).
