Hello! My name is Stanley and I created this group to get myself and others out of bed and to create healthy patterns! To live life and start the day off right!
I jump in the ocean everyday (Santa Monica) to get out of bed and to start my days fresh!!
MEETING SPOT: in front of the second lifeguard stand north of the Santa Monica Pier (about a 10 minute walk from start of pier). Exit of pier is by bubba gump shrimp.
TIME: I run into the ocean around 9a.m daily! Before hand or after I sometimes meditate or go for a run!
TIPS:
•this should be stress free!! If you are running late it’s okay, you got out of bed that’s a win! I walk but metro/bus is a great option for people on a budget.
•This is a great way to meet friends in a safe and healthy environment!
•come with an open mind and heart! No expectations..just be proud of yourself to be out.
•bring water!! This is a great opportunity to focus on hydration!!!
•best to bring a towel to dry off because its cold!! Especially before summer. Bringing a blanket is nice too if you plan to hangout or meditate.
OPEN WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT:
This is a universal place to meet. No politics, religion, and pressure to be anything. We’re all human in this hard world. I am very open! Here is my story if you’d like to know more about me!
A few years ago I got diagnosed with Lymes disease, rare for California but very, very common disease in Pennsylvania where I am from. I can’t spread it to other people, it doesn’t hurt me or lower my life span by much. It’s an odd disease where the major symptoms are depression and lack of motivation. The only way to fight this is by pushing every right button. I refuse to have a life filled with depression, where my best friend is my bed. I know what it’s like to feel alone, to struggle, to fail, get fired from a job due to mental health(slept 20 hours straight). Life is not easy but I keep pushing. I decided to change recently to live the healthiest life I can live!! I researched more and became less stubborn about what I needed in life. My motto: I do what it takes to be okay. I changed many habits that were hurting me and added good ones like jumping in the ocean, working out, and eating much healthier to name a few. I have no science to prove jumping in the ocean helps mentally but, I do know if I’m in the ocean I’m not in bed so I’m living life!
By living life to the fullest we must not be comfortable. We must push ourselves. Face the anxiety of meeting new people. Feel discomfort like the cold sand and ocean!
One thing that I ask is if you say you are going to come, stay true to your word. When morning comes and every cell in your body tells you to stay comfortable in bed, face your fear and overcome your patterns.
