EVENT: What better way to start out the New Year than taking a hike! The Blue Hills was the first in the nation to start First Day Hikes 22 years ago, and now it has spread to all 50 states! Be a part of this terrific, fun, innovative atmosphere in the pristine conditions of winter! If you've never hiked in the winter, this is an ideal opportunity. Organizers start off things by offering hot soup for the chilly inclined. Park Rangers lead groups along a variety of trails – from a quick pond walk to up – and over – the hills. We'll decide as a group, once everyone arrives, as to which route we will take.

Trip Coordinators: Steve (Koop) and Stu
RSVP: Required by Sunday, December 30 to either Stu or Koop
MEET: We’ll meet at 12:30 PM at the main Houghton Pond parking lot, 840 Hillside St., Milton. We can meet near the small covered picnic table area. The hikes start promptly at 1 PM. If the weather’s nice, it will be jammed. If you get shut out of the main lot, there are small pull-over lots on the street. BE SURE TO LEAVE ENOUGH TIME TO FIND PARKING AND/OR TO WALK TO OUR MEETING SITE.
COST: $5 for members from Meetup, which can be credited towards a full Mosaic membership costing $25.
