Moss and mates: nature connection Lower Vert Woods, near Laughton

Get outside, chill with nature, and make some new pals in this relaxed moss-hunting adventure near Laughton.

Join us for a chilled afternoon exploring nature’s beauty in a mindful way.

Jodie runs Moss & Mates a regular nature connection event group. Through this event we will combine nature connection prompts with a mindful walk and end with some tea around the fire.

Nature connection workshops are a chance to connect with the senses and notice what is around you. So often, even when we take the time to get out in nature, we are walking at pace or distracted by our own thoughts. This is a chance to slow down and take prompts from our facilitators such as 'noticing textures of bark' or 'finding a sit spot by a tree and looking upwards'. Some prompts will be individual, and some in small groups.

Location: Lower Vert Woods (///furnish.home.swims) I will send a meeting point and we will start the walk into the woods together. Meeting from 13:45 and walking at 14:00.

Getting there:
Via bus: From Brighton, the bus is the Regency 28 which goes to Hailsham and Eastbourne. The stop is past Laughton near Park Lane, opposite the Stonecross Business Centre. The Regency 28 also comes from Lewes.

What to bring and wear: Please bring a suitable pair of sturdy outdoor footwear, a bottle of water, snacks and appropriate clothing paying attention to the weather forecast on the day.

Accessibility: The planned route will mostly be along pathways but there is likely to be fallen branches etc. An example of a nature connection invitation will be: 'find a sit spot under a tree and look up at what's above you for 10 mins'. It is up to you how far off the beaten track you wish to go. Please be mindful of your own safety. The walk will be slow.
