Welcome to the First event of 2026!
Starting the new year with a new instalment of Mot.
We'll be hosting this event at Thought Works in Newcastle - 78 Grey St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6AF.
On the 20th of January The Ministry of Testing Newcastle Team are coming back with 2 great local speaker’s on the line up! First up we have Chris Henderson talking to us about ‘Vulnerability as a Superpower’ and he’ll be followed by Martin Underhill doing a talk on Mobile Accessibility.
Martin will show us:
- How to check websites are accessible on mobile with no loss of information or functionality along with some common exceptions and how to deal with them.
- How mobile screen readers are different to desktop screen readers.
- The differences and limitations of native apps compared to websites.
- How to hookup a keyboard (as some mobile users use physical keyboards)
- And probably a whole lot more.

Chris:
Christopher Henderson is the co-founder of the Quality Talks podcast which aims to spark meaningful conversation about tech, quality, leadership, coaching and more! With over 11 years in the industry Chris has a breadth of experience in quality industry.
Martin:
Martin Underhill was formerly the Lead Accessibility Specialist at Sage. He headed up the accessibility team who work with designers, developers, and testers across the company to ensure the products they produce are as accessible as possible. Now a Digital Accessibility Consultant he helps organisations embed accessible content and practices into their day to day, making inclusive content the norm!
We'll be providing food (probably pizza) and drinks so why not pop along and meet some real-life testers!
