It's time for another trip on one of my favorite mountains! If you are interested in improving your snow climbing skills or if you have snow climbing experience and just want to have fun on one of the best non-technical climbs in the Cascades, please consider joining me for a climb of Mt. Adams. Here's the plan.
11 Sep - meet at the Ranger Station in Trout Lake, WA at noon. Drive up to the South Climb Trailhead, backpack up to a campsite around 8200ft (below the Lunch Counter) and camp.
12 Sep - Alpine start for summit bid, back to camp to pack up, then backpack out and depart

Round trip Distance - 12 miles
Total Elevation Gain - approximately 6700 feet
Day 1 Plan - Approximately 3.4miles and 2700 feet up Heavy pack
Day 2 Plan
Morning - Approximately 5 miles RT and 4000 feet up Summit Pack
Afternoon - Approximately 3.4 miles descend 2700 feet Heavy Pack

Prerequisites
Participants on this climb must have previous snow climbing experience or have completed some sort of basic snow climb/travel training. This means knowing how to use an ice axe (for both balance and self-arrest) and how to move on snow with/without crampons.
Please submit either your climbing resume or information about training you have completed to me. Final "going" list for this trip will be approved by me based on this information.

Equipment
Information on required personal gear and team gear will be provided to participants separately.
Permits
A Mount Adams climbing permit is required. I will provide information on this permit to participants.
