We continue our section series on the Seneca Greenway Trail in Montgomery County where we stopped last time for approximately 7 miles total out and back. We will take a detour on this hike to hike around Clopper Lake. We will start at the same parking lot where we had lunch last time, go around the lake, hike south to Riffle Ford Road and then return the same way.

This section of the natural surface trail offers views of Clopper Lake. The trails is mostly flat around the lake and the whole hike has a few minor hills. Pace will be 2.5-3.0 miles per hour. Bring poles if you need them. Bring water, snacks and lunch. There are bathrooms a little off the trail soon after we start the hike and we can stop there.

Coordinates for the parking lot: 39.14521, -77.25706. We will meet at the Kingfisher Overlook of Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD. This is where we had lunch last time. There are no fees to enter the park on weekdays.
