What we’re about
Revised 6/5/2021: This Meetup group is operated by the Mountain Club of Maryland (MCM), a nonprofit outdoors club that engages in hiking, backpacking, canoeing/kayaking, and similar outdoor activities. We are centered in the Baltimore metropolitan area, but we hike throughout Maryland and in nearby states. Membership in MCM is open to all who enjoy being outdoors with a group. For a small annual membership fee, our members have access to more than 300 hikes a year offered by our volunteer hike leaders. To join, or to learn more about MCM, go to Mountain Club Of Maryland HOME PAGE (mcomd.org).
When you attend an MCM Meetup event, you acknowledge that there are inherent risks in hiking and other outdoor events, and you assume those risks, and agree that the MCM, its officers, representatives or leaders shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising out of the activities of the club.

Rescheduled from Sept 23 due to weather.
If the US government is shutdown on the day of the trip, the trip is cancelled.
This trip is to continue preparation work. We will be doing grip-hoist work again to place foundation stones in prepared pits. We also have to move rocks and dirt to the foundation location for construction of the approaches. We'll have a wheelbarrow for dirt and small rocks. We will also do area cleanup, breaking up fire rings and hauling out camper trash; it's a high use area and not everyone is neat and tidy.
Very limited to no cell service at the location.
The ATC crew will do the final bridge assembly in late October so there will be plenty of opportunity for future work trips.
Bring a lunch, water, snacks, camera.
Weather cancellation, if necessary, will be done 2 days in advance using information from the GFS model on https://home.pivotalweather.com/ The forecast is usually right on the mark 48 hr in advance.
Meeting 9:00 AM at Hunter's Run AT parking. There is very limited parking at the trail head so we organize a shuttle if more than 5 people sign up.
