Woodstock area hike T*U*E*S*D*A*Y 6-ish Miles with 500' of climb

Please don't sign up for this hike if you haven't completed a similar hike recently.

We'll aim for a walking speed of 2.0 to 2.5 mph. There are some (usually modest) stream crossings. We'll be using some trails new to us (that we looked for last time but couldn't find) so be prepared for some glitches. Some areas may be grassy so long trousers, sleeves and tick spray are recommended.

This is a lollipop hike with the stick being about a half mile. We'll be on the south side of the river between Woodstock, from where we'll step off, and then go downstream through a wooded area toward Daniels dam. which, BTW, will be removed in the next few years, before looping back upstream along the river to Woodstock.

We'll have a snack break during the hike with an optional post-hike half-price Woodstock Inn cheese steak standwiches and 2-for-1 brews.

Be prepared for rocky and rooty trails and copious mud. Sturdy waterproof hiking boots are HIGHLY recommended for the new trail section as it's quite rocky particularly at the beginning/end.

You can add more distance/climb with your own post-hike add-on, hiking up-stream on the south side of the river or either up- or down-stream on the north side of the river.
