River and hills - 6-ish miles with 700' elevation gain

This is an irregular figure-8 hike, about 6-ish miles in length with 700 feet of ascent. Please don't sign up for this hike unless you've done a hike with this level of distance and elevation gain recently. The Mountain Club (https://www.mcomd.org/) offers several hikes of varying difficulty from easy to strenous weekly so check them out.
There are several stream crossings, all of which are normally straightforward. The trails are rocky and rooty in places. Expect copious mud. Boots are recommended. Ticks are still out so insect repellent is also recommended. Some of the hills are long-ish but not particularly steep. It's a very quiet area of the park where one seldom sees others.
