From Woodstock to the Dorsey Tunnel

This hike will start at the Woodstock Inn and go east along the Baltimore County side of the river farther than we normally go. We will continue under the power lines and past the train bridge to the Dorsey Tunnel area. Lunch will be on the exact summit of the hill over the Dorsey Tunnel. Getting there requires some imaginative bushwhacking on steep slopes, but if we stay in a tight group, we’ll do fine. The last time we did this hike, the total time was 5 hours. The estimated distance is 7.7 mile and the elevation gain about 1230 ft. The moving speed will be about 2.2 mph.
