Spring cleaning the AT across Cove mountain - 9 miles
Details
We will be clearing winter blowdown on the Appalachian Trail in the 9 miles segment across Cove Mountain. Starting at PA850 to Inn Road, Duncannon.
There will be multiple certified chainsaw operators (sawyers) who need assistants (swampers) who can carry supplies and act as safety lookout during operations.
The sawyer and swampers will work as independent crews and leapfrog from one blowdown to the next so we're not bunching up with chainsaws.
Historically, there are between 20 and 30 blowdowns in that section. This year we expect more than usual.
Bring lunch, snacks, water, good hiking footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather that day.
Meet at the PA850 trailhead @ 8AM and expect to be on the trail prior to 8:30AM
