McKeldin Area

The hike will be about 5-6 miles at an walking pace of about of about 2.25 MPH with 400' of climb. There are no significant stream crossings and climbs are moderate. Individuals may add more miles on their own (perhaps to Liberty Dam) after we arrive at back at the step-off site.

Please don't sign up for this hike unless you've done a similar hike recently. The Mountain Club of Maryland offers several hikes of varying difficulty each week. Check out https://www.meetup.com/mountain-club-of-maryland-meet-up-group/ for alternatives.

We'll have a snack break during the hike and an optional brown bag lunch in the picnic area following the hike.
