- West Coast Canoe ExpeditionPH33 7PL, Fort William
Perhaps you've already enjoyed our stunning, beginner-friendly Canoe Scotland Expedition. On this West Coast Canoe Expedition, we're heading to the beautiful beaches of the West Coast of Scotland.
We are on the water each day but this time the itinerary is a tiny bit more relaxed, giving more time for socializing, beachcombing, wild swimming, and walks to remote beauty spots and castle ruins.
In the evening we camp on white sand beaches that wouldn't be out of place in the Caribbean. The wildlife can be fantastic too - I've spent time paddling with a Minke Whale in the area in the past, so keep your eyes open for these gentle and majestic creatures. There are also otters, pine martens, and seals so keep your eyes peeled!
Please note: You can save 5% off the first West Coast Canoe Expedition on our pioneer event (starting Monday 20th May) by using code 'WCPioneer' at checkout for a limited time. - Canoe Scotland by Adventure SolosPH33 7PL, Fort William

https://www.AdventureSolos.com/canoe-scotland-adventure - The Roaches & Lud's Church Peak District by Adventure SolosNeeds location
Lud's Church has a 'wow-factor'. It is a gorge or chasm in the surrounding rock and is approximately 20m deep and 100m long. It has steep, moss-covered sides, giving it a mysterious or mystical feel. It seems a little other-worldly; like you've stepped into a Lord of the Rings landscape.
We continue our hike up onto The Roaches - a wide ridge (a bit like Mam Tor if you've been on that hike with us) with views of the countryside below.
If we are making good progress, we might pop down to 'Hen Cloud' too, essentially the end of The Roaches with more fantastic views (we just have to double back on ourselves a few hundred meters if we do).
The highest point on this route is 505m. The route we will follow is 10 miles (16km) and will take around 6 hours. The ridge is a nice wide path, making it suitable for those with a fear of heights. We walk at a steady pace for this hike, but you should have a moderate to good level of fitness to allow you to complete the walk. The event starts and ends at the car park in Gradback, SK17 0SU (or the farmer's nearby overflow car park if that's full). We'll drive 5 minutes up the road to the New Inn Pub for a social chat and drink (non-alcoholic is fine) afterwards. For more information or to book your spot, visit:

Day Hikes by Adventure Solos are a great way to get to know us if you're interested in our solo-friendly adventures. We set a fairly slow and steady pace for these walks, making them social and inclusive events. All walks are lead by an Adventure Solos host that is also a qualified Mountain Leader and first aider (usually Chris from Adventure Solos).
This lovely riverside walk undulates along the River Wharfe, passing by Bolton Abbey on the return leg, with a visit to an awesome nearby American Diner (Billy Bob’s) where you can load up on calories again after! The route we follow is 7 miles (11km) and will take around 4.5 hours, including half an hour to wander the grounds of the Abbey. We will walk at a fairly gentle pace for this hike, but you should have a moderate level of fitness to allow you to walk for the 7 miles. For the avoidance of doubt, the cost of your food/drink at the diner is not included in the event. The event starts near the roadside parking outside the Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, BD23 6AJ.
