Holiday Mountain Bike Ride & Sock Drive for the Homeless
Hello friends, bring a new pair of socks and join me in festive holiday attire or a decked out bicycle to deliver holiday cheer. Grab the whole family and join the fun! The ride will be a relaxed pace so that the whole group can ride together. Riders of all levels are encourage to join; ride will last around 90 minutes. Why bring socks? Do you know that socks are the most needed and least donated item at homeless shelter? Though it might seem like a minor detail of everyday life for most of us, having a clean pair of socks is life-changing for a homeless person. Imagine walking countless miles on the streets each day with ill-fitting shoes and socks that have more holes than material. The pain is great and the risk of more severe foot ailments and infection becomes even higher during cold weather. A pair of socks can make a huge difference in the comfort and health of a homeless person. Other helpful items needed are gently-used blankets, coats, hats, scarves and gloves for adults and children. Unused hygiene products, new underwear and hand warmers. All donated items will be dropped off at Las Vegas Rescue Mission to benefit homeless to help keep their feet warm & dry this winter. ***Donated items will be collected before the ride so please arrive a little early*** Happy holidays and I hope to see you there! • What to bring Plenty of water 100+ Oz and tubes, at least one. • Important to know *WEARING OF HELMETS IS MANDATORY ON ALL RIDES* **By signing up for this meetup, I agree to the following: Mountain Biking can be dangerous and cause serious bodily injury or even possibly death.
