Let's gather to read books that help us be our best selves! Introducing the Better Human Book Club, a partnership between Handley Library and MoveMentation.

Our focus is on books that help us to know ourselves and allow us to explore personal and communal growth together.

Before turning our attention to discussing the selected book, we will start with some brief stretches and mild movement exercises. Book club meetings will be facilitated by Adrian VanKeuren of MoveMentation. The discussion aspect of the book club will wrap up at 7:30pm; there will be an optional 15 minutes of movement after the meeting ends.

Book Club meetings will be on the first Wednesday of each month. Join us and local author Sarah Lascano on August 6 as we discuss her book The Force Within: Practical Tools to Integrate Energy Medicine into Your Health and Healing.

Free and open to the public. No registration required.

Join us for Twinkle Tai Chi, a nighttime Tai Chi and Qigong Experience, held underneath the beautifully lit event tent at Willow Grove Farm!

Previous events have been fundraising efforts for various charities in our community; for this event, we are honoring our community's loss of renowned herbalist Kelly Howard. This event will be held in her honor, and all proceeds will be donated in Kelly's name to a charity to be selected by her loving husband Plimon Howard.

No tai chi or qigong experience is needed to attend the event; we'll gather in the twilight underneath the twinkling lights and discuss some of the principles of tai chi and qigong. We'll then move and flow together next to the lovely lake; attendees can expect to feel more grounded and at peace at the end of our evening together.

Twinkle Tai Chi is entirely donation based and is located at Willow Grove Farm, 740 Merriman's Lane, Winchester VA.

Any businesses or individuals wishing to co-sponsor the event by donating $100 may do so by reaching out directly to Adrian; co-sponsoring the event helps us to raise more funds to be donated in Kelly’s name and gets you/your business mentioned in promotional materials of the event.
