JANS: Following (FIRST Christopher Nolan film)
UA Galaxy Stadium 10, 11801 McCree Rd, Dallas, TX, US1998, Rated "R" 1 hr 9 minutes JANS: Following is on a Regal document, I don't know what the significance of JANS: is.
I'm guessing very few people actually saw this film. Yep, this is a bit odd. Regal members got a notice on 05Jan2026 that "Following: going to be in theatres 1/17 Only! " NO OTHER INFORMATION.
No idea what time, how much tickets might be, or anything else. Guessing 7PM and I'm blocking my calendar from 6-9 PM to be at the Regal.
We went by the Regal to find out what the manager knew, which turned out to be nada about this film. She told us that when they have special events like this they are normally informed a few days before Friday of the week the film will be viewed, so they can add it to their website to show tickets. Therefore, it may be around the 14th when theaters receive notice.

“Following was my first opportunity as an independent filmmaker to reach an audience,” said Christopher Nolan, writer, producer, and director of his first feature. “My gratitude goes to the fans who continually show up to experience independent films on the big screen and to Independent Film Company for their commitment in bringing my debut feature back to theatres.”

"Following is a 1998 British independent neo-noir crime thriller film written, produced, directed, photographed, and edited by Christopher Nolan in his feature film directorial debut. It tells the story of a young man who follows strangers around the streets of London and is drawn into a criminal underworld when he fails to keep his distance.
The film was designed to be as inexpensive as possible to make. Scenes were heavily rehearsed so just one or two takes were needed to economise on 16mm film stock, the production's greatest expense, and for which Nolan was paying from his salary. Unable to afford expensive professional lighting equipment, Nolan mostly used available light. Along with writing, directing, and photographing the film, Nolan helped in editing and production.
The film was released by The Criterion Collection on both Blu-ray and DVD in North America on 11 December 2012. [This is the only Christopher Nolan film released by Criterion that is notable for spiffing up films and making them available to the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Criterion_Collection]

Writer-director Ryan Coogler struck gold with his latest film Sinners, which is currently one of the highest-grossing films of the year, and you may have noticed a familiar name in the credits - that of Christopher Nolan. The credits of Coogler’s transcendent supernatural horror film offer special thanks to both Nolan and his wife, and producing partner Emma Thomas. In Coogler’s recent exploration of the Criterion Closet, he cites Nolan as a mentor while praising his feature directorial debut, Following, a low-budget neo-noir crime thriller. Released in 1998, Following is, surprisingly, still the only one of Nolan’s films with a Criterion release, and, as Coogler goes on to explain, showcases many of the hallmarks Nolan would later become known for. Considering the massive amounts of money Nolan would later get the opportunity to work with, Following is an impressive look at what he was able to accomplish as a young filmmaker with big ideas working on a small budget.2 attendees
