Cinephile Chat

This event is an opportunity for the group to come together to discuss a few movies (likely 3) that didn't make it into being posted as a group viewing event, but members have seen on their own and would like to discuss with others who have seen the film.

This first event will be done via zoom as a trial. If it goes well, we can schedule future events at restaurants or zoom for the 1st Friday of each month.

GUIDELINES
1. Only for movies with no posted event qualify, unless that event has passed and encore discussion is wanted for people who missed past group discussion. If a movie IS posted by the night of the Cinephile Chat, it will be dropped from the list to be discussed on Cinephile Chat. [If there is a LOT of interest in a film, it may even be picked out for it's own Event Posting.]
2. Interested members would start a THREAD in the Cinephile Chat Discussion section for a movie they have seen and are worthy of group discussion, IF it doesn't already have a thread. They should include a link to the trailer for that film and info on where it can be seen.
3. If anyone else has seen the movie and would like to discuss it, they would reply to the thread.
4. Each movie has one thread. Each thread discusses one movie.
5. Roughly one week before the scheduled Chat, host will read threads in effort to determine interest level and rank them #1 through #? and note (possibly in event title) which 3 will be discussed, in ranked order.
6. Members can then determine, based on posted list whether or not they will Attend.

You will have the opportunity to avoid spoilers for movies you haven't seen. We'll be clear during the call so you can mute and we can use the chat to let muters know when next film is about to be discussed : )

We'll try 30 mins per film and see how that goes. This is a trial and subject to tweaking based on our experience and your feedback on Friday 12/5.
