I am super excited that we will be finally be able to catch Best Picture nominee "The Secret Agent" in our area and at a reasonable time! Some say it's the best film of the year - and now we'll be able to see for ourselves.
Rated 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, the 2025 Brazilian political thriller The Secret Agent (O Agente Secreto), directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho and starring Wagner Moura, has achieved major international acclaim, winning Best Actor (Moura) and Best International Film at the New York Film Critics Circle. It won three awards at Cannes 2025 and secured Golden Globe 2026 wins for Best Actor and Best Non-English Language Film. It has garnered 4 Oscar nominations for 2026, including Best Picture, Best International Feature Film, Best Actor (Moura), and Best Casting.

We'll catch the 1:25pm show at the Reading Cinema in Manville. Please note that they do not have nearly as many previews as they do at AMC so you won't want to be late!

Yeah baby - we will be back at Grub Hut - Woohoo! Our reservation is for 4:30ish under my name and yes, we have our favorite spot in the back room for optimal conversation:)
SYNOPSIS:
In 1977, Marcelo, a technology teacher, moves from São Paulo to Recife during Carnival to escape his violent past and start over. He finds the city full of chaos, and his neighbours begin to spy on him.
