SYNOPSIS: The Gheorghius, a devout Romanian Norwegian couple, resettle in a village set in a distant fjord where they become close to their neighbors, the Halbergs. Their children bond despite their different upbringing, but when adolescent Elia shows up at school with some bruises on her body, the Gheorghius come under the scrutiny of a state committed to values seemingly at odds with the family’s own culture and traditions.
