Nick Davis Lecture: The Road Trips of Pawel Pawlikowski

In his Digging Deeper lecture series, professor Nick Davis perpetually provides an amazing film clinic, showcasing elements like sound design, Romanian films, and directors like Bong Joon-ho and Lynne Ramsay in a comprehensively illuminating yet accessible and fun way. For this session he'll be looking into the career of Pawel Pawlikowski, who had continuous interest in road stories yet lately has burnished a wonderfully specific style of films packed with nuance and scope in under 90 minutes. (!!!)

Coincidentally, Davis' lecture will last around 90 minutes, after which we'll head to the Centennial on 733 N. LaSalle where we'll talk about his film work, the value of the "road trip" genre, and why "-kowski" is not Polish for "son of".
