New Year's Hike & Plunge!

START THE NEW YEAR OFF WITH A “POLAR PLUNGE” ON JANUARY 1st - 11:30 AT CRATER PARK!

Start 2026 off right with a New Year’s “Polar Plunge” in the Yadkin River
Clear your mind as you freeze your body.

Hike/Walk from the Elkin Recreation Center at 10:15 AM.... with arrival at Crater Park for the 11:30 AM Polar Plunge Event.

While hiking/walking ... you'll take in the ambiance ... as you mentally prep yourself for this Polar Plunge in the Yadkin River!

The Plunge will start at 11:30 AM.

Not required- but encouraged .... wearing a fun costume is a plus for everyone!

Our local rescue squad will be donating their time to make this a safe event.

Hot chocolate will follow.

Bring your towel and ambition.

Photos will be taken and posted to our Elkin Valley Trails Association's Facebook page.

There is no charge, but any donations will be split with the Elkin Rescue Squad.
