New Year's Hike & Plunge!

START THE NEW YEAR OFF WITH A “POLAR PLUNGE” ON JANUARY 1st - 11:30 AT CRATER PARK!

Start 2026 off right with a New Year’s “Polar Plunge” in the Yadkin River
Clear your mind as you freeze your body.

There will be no hike with the plunge year.

Please arrive at Crater Park at 11:15 AM for a safety talk before the event.

The Plunge will start at 11:30 AM.

Not required- but encouraged .... wearing a fun costume is a plus for everyone!

Our local rescue squad will be donating their time to make this a safe event.

Hot chocolate will follow while supplies last.

Bring your towel and ambition.

Photos will be taken and posted to our Elkin Valley Trails Association's Facebook page.

There is no charge, but any donations will be split with the Elkin Rescue Squad.
