NC Trails Days - Basin Cove, Grassy Gap Fire Road

This beautiful hike follows Basin Creek into the once thriving community of Basin Cove. We will be hiking an intermediate hike, passing Alice Caudill's gravesite before hiking up to a large stone bridge built by the CCC in March of 1938. This is an out and back hike and will involve several water crossings of approximately 7 to 8 miles. Bring snacks, water, and wear appropriate footwear. Trekking poles/hiking sticks suggested.
