Klondike Preserve & Future Site of Bridge of Dreams Hike

Join EVTA for a hike led by Keith Sidden on Saturday, June 20. This hike will start at Grassy Creek Vineyard and includes the Forest Bathing Loop Trail followed by an Out-and-Back to Carter Falls. Partnering with Piedmont Land Conservancy, Elkin Valley Trails is striving to preserve 33 acres along the Klondike property. We will hike this area and talk about our initiatives to reach this goal. On the other side of this hike, we will visit the future site of Bridge of Dreams - what will be a 200 ft+ suspension bridge over Lower Carter Falls and serving as the divider between the mountains and Piedmont on the North Carolina Mountains-to-Sea Trail. This hike will be a chance to learn about the history of this area, to enjoy its present state, and to discuss how we can protect these areas permanently for generations to come.

This hike will be approximately 5 miles and will include moderate terrain - some rocky areas and steps on the Carter Falls Power House trail.
